About Us

Mary R. Johnson
We are Christians and have been married since 1965. We have three children and eight grandchildren. We have both lived all our lives here in Vance County. I retired from the manufactured housing industry after 39 years but, I did not retire from what I love. I have worked with horses and animals all of my life. We also own Carolina Bed Center which Mary Sue runs on a daily basis. When our first grandchild was born we made a decision that we had to do something to make Pop and Nana’s house a place the grandchildren would always want to come. So in 2000, we traded in our retirement to buy a farm and build a house. Since that time we have proceeded to acquire horses and other farm animals. We grow all the hay and grain that is needed to maintain the animals.
We have enjoyed being able to teach our grandchildren how God has blessed us in being able to live this life and have the relationship with the land and the animals. We have also realized the opportunity exists to share this farm with many children and adults who, otherwise, would never have this experience. We started by taking our horses and wagons to events in 2003. Some examples are...
  • large corporate events put on by Lamm Events
  • horse drawn hay rides for church activities
  • horse drawn carriage and wagons for parades
  • lead-line horse rides for festivals
  • wedding carriage for numerous weddings
  • carriage rides for high school proms
We opened the farm to the public for on-site activities and events in April of 2010.  We look forward to seeing you at the farm.
